You look at Roy in his prime, making dudes look like fools. You think he's an idiot. Then you see him commentate for HBO, and talk outside of the ring...he's a lovely guy, and I hope he demonstrates his skills tomorrow.
It's like that in the states too. Maybe 2-3% of people in america give fukk all about boxing. Anyway, who wants a bunch of casual fans around anyway. lol
just watched the Jones/Lacy fight again. Start the vid at 7:00-7:08. Roy Jones is 40 years old and still has amazingly insane speed. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=05lieSu4MuI"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=05lieSu4MuI[/ame] Hopefully Roy looks good tomorrow and wins.
Great speed still but his timing is almost completely gone. its why he couldn't hit calzaghe for **** and its why he missed Lacy so much. Still one of my favs though no matter what.
oh the angle doesn't show how effectively those punches landed. I'm watching from a different angle and trust me 85-90% of those punches landed.

poor lacy. I still think Roy would be more effective if he adopted a high guard at this point but w/e
The high guard was one of the areas calzaghe exploited against Jones. He knew Roy would be limited with the high guard and susceptible to feints. That, and the fact Roy's legs are quite obviously gone at this stage his career is why I laugh when Calzaghe fans think Joe beat even a reasonable facsimile of a Prime Roy.
