Danny Jacobs is the top dog at 160 and a damn good fighter

No Canelo and GGG are both elite champions. They rule a division. Jacobs is not special. He would be Quarry or Norton to GGG and Canelo's Ali or Holmes. He would be Benny Briscoe instead of Monzon or Hagler. There will always be at least one man in the division who can whip him. Thus, he's a top contender who will never be champ.

 

Who has Jacobs beaten?

Quillin (remember him?)
Derevchanyenko (close, who has beaten no one)

Hardly the stuff of HOF

 

Except for that numerous arguments have been made as to how GGG was ducking both Derevyanchenko and Quillin in the past.

 

hes proved himself world class so far, thats his level for now. elite/hof claims are just BS to try and yield a fake elite/HOF win to 3G's resume. These guys are fake 3G fans, they should know 3G is yet to take his greatest scalps.

 

Jacobs is good but flawed. Charlo would probably beat him fairly decisively. Jacobs will find a way to lose vs Canelo.

 

I do think he is probably the best (or co-best, along with Canelo & GGG, against either of whom I could easily see him splitting a series, anybody's ballgame on a given night) h2h but he is yet to prove himself "top dog". That'll require putting in a bit more work and clearing out some peers.

Game of inches at that level, I don't think you can say any of them is clearly better than any other. Especially given the results when three of the four of them have met.

 

jacob was beaten by glove and glove was beaten by moomin. andbj wasnt beaten. its obvious hes fourth best at best.

 

GGG vs. Jacobs and Canelo I & II were all razor-thin, and Jacobs vs. BJS or Canelo would be 50-50.

 

and dev-jacobs wasnt exactly one sided so is 13 fight novice dev the elite number one of the division too.
