This guy has a really strong resume. Pirog, GGG, Derevyanchenko. Definitely one of the top 5 resumes of anybody under 35 in boxing right now.

Hes 1-2 in those fights and in this era taking losses means you're a can. Well **** it, it's a fight, whatever happens, happens. Jacobs won the big fight last night.

Good to see a guy like him get the win.

Danny Jacobs never fought some paper champ or gimme vacant title shot. He earned this one big time.

I agree. Jacobs regardless of how you scored the fights did have the big fights ie Golovkin and Quillin, both undefeated fighter's and took on other undefeated fighter's in Sulecki, Arias etc.

I picked against him when he fought Pirog and Sulecki but picked Jacobs to beat Golovkin.

I thought Jacobs did enough against Golovkin but would have to rewatch. I thought both Sulecki and Derevyanchenko may have taken the decision but they were all close debatable fights.

Yes I agree Jacobs deserves credit

Yeah he is willing to fight the best, glad he's picked up a recognised belt at last and hopefully he continues to get big fights from. The back of the win.

Charlo looks out in the cold but being o the same channel as Canelo is a good sign for Jacobs and a unification. Good chance they pick up GGG as well and rematch with him or Derevyanchenko would be good as well as fighting Andrade for the other belt.

All four belts for DAZN fights plus the ring and lineal title if you buy into that so he's at a good place moving into the back half of his career. Should get some big fights, paydays and as good a chance to cement his legacy as any other. Good times.

Gotta give Derevyanchenko props too for stepping up early in his pro career he is older and has an extensive amateur/WBS background so it's the right move but many still take there time, look forward to him mixing up with the rest of the division too.

People seem to forget that Pirog was a nobody back then.
Pirog was a talent but his resume is **** poor. Besides Jacobs, whom did he beat? Nobody!

Jacobs has a good resume for a middleweight, but it´s a far cry from what the real P4P guys have on theirs.

Crawford’s resume is doggie poo too
And Canelo lost both GGG fights and he lost against Lara too

    P4P list means nothing

Jacobs, Mikey and Crawford are top 3 P4P US fighters.

Arguably so. And Spence does not belong on any P4P lists.
Spence: Bundu, Avocoda-Man, Heerden, Brook, Peterson.
Jacobs: Derevyanchenko, Mora, Sulecki, Truax, Quillin, Smith.

When discussing resume you dont just include wins.

You know who lost the two biggest fights of his career? ATG Thomas Hearns. Obviously far more credit is given to the winner. No **** that's obvious and I dont want to cause any confusion there.

That said, this thread was mostly about Jacob's willingness to show courage and take on all comers.

Not many people can put up a resume like Pirog, GGG and Chenko.

Hoesntly I would pick him to beat GGG now. He ran a 34 year old Golovkin close. I think he takes it over a 36 year old Golovkin. Now against a 32 year old GGG I'm making GGG clear favorite, but GGG ain't young anymore.

You're right. I would pick him to beat Canelo. I would pick him to beat BJS. And I would pick him to beat GGG.

I think hes top dog at 160 right now.

    You brought up Spence.
And i only mentioned the wins because even then, Jacobs is ahead of Spence.
He is the more accomplished fighter.

But there are quite a few who surpass Jacobs' resume, and many more who rival him.

If we go by W's and L's, Lamont Peterson is way ahead of Jacobs.

Interesting. Well I rate Pirog and GGG over Spence. I rate Chenko over Garcia and Lucas M.

And as for Bradley I called him the most overrated fighter in boxing. Who made his name off of disputed decisions against old Featherweights.

He very nearly priced himself out of his mandatory shot at Golovkin playing the waiting game like the rest of the division as the Kazakh guy started to fade. He then put up an admirable fight that had he been Canelo would of seen him given an 118-110 win by all three judges.
