My gut says Devery but my head says Jacobs, because they've sparred dozens of times and if Danny was getting worked he wouldn't have taken the fight.

Danny on points, Dereyvanchenko disappointed me with that Johnson performance.

Jacobs will be too good for the robotic and stiff guy.

I'm rooting for Derevyanchenko, who I think is a somewhat better fighter. But I think Jacobs will win by gift decision.

Jacobs has all the advantages, including Derevyanchenko's trainer in his corner. Also the ref and judges will give the home country boxer some help to ensure a win.

    That's it exactly.

And the ref will protect Jacobs if Derevyanchenko is coming close to stopping him.

I voted SD only because Jacobs has looked sub-par in the last couple fights. It makes you kind of wonder when you are dealing with a cancer survivor whether there may be some residual damage or some recurrence happening. I think most of the top MWs would have stopped Jacobs if he had fought the way he did against Sulecki. Candidly, I don't know enough about SD but I have seen him fight and he has looked the better fighter of late.

Derevyanchenko will stop Jacobs, he's stylistically all wrong for Danny, he's able to get inside with the greatest of ease, and land in combination while in there, Jacobs, who's been a little too confident in trading with opponents since the GGG match, so thinking he can get the best of him, will let him in a little too easily. Sergey is great at varying up the speed on his shots, so while in a dogfight with Jacobs he'll throw a fastball that Danny isn't expecting. Also if Danny decides to run and play it safe, Sergey is great at cutting off the ring, doubles and triples up his jab to keep his opponents occupied and can usher his opponents in whatever direction he chooses, trap them, and still get the work done there. I like Danny a lot, but regardless of whatever Danny that shows up, Derevyanchenko will have his number.

Probably a step up too soon for the Ukrainian.

I think it's possible. IBF rehidration weigh in rules will somewhat nulify Jacob's size advantage - he will be tired in the late rounds. But Sergiy most likely needs to stop him to win.
