Spike would make it competitive for the first 6 or so rounds. Jacobs would start finding that right hand more solid by this time. Spike is there to be hit but he appears to have a good chin. However, after a few bombs from Jacobs and that chin wont last till the final bell. Regardless you gotta Love the mustache!
It depends. Eddie Hearn might have to overpay to get Jacobs a good opponent. No one really wants to fight Jacobs and rightly so, he has no belts, he rehydrates to Cruiserweight size on fight night, has an awkward not very fan friendly style. Hearn might have to get the checkbook out if he wants decent opposition for Jacobs, at least until he can force another mandatory position.
Personally I'd rather see him fight Rosado, Stevens, Murray or Lemieux, all would be okay pay days, en route to a pointless rematch with BJS, he shouldn't go anywhere near GGG.
Also, I have zero desire to see him face Jacobs, terrible style clash, he has a puncher's chance, but a very slim one.
Oscar tried signing Sullivan with golden boy . Sullivan is looking to face the top guys . Oscar put Sullivan on the lemy BJ's card. Oscar might end up using Sullivan for canelo at a later date. Like I said it's Sullivans destiny to fight at the top once more win or lose
Pretty sure if Spike fought Canelo his moustache would be gone after all of those counters. Just small pieces of his tasche flying into the crowd, doing some serious damage to all of the Canelo fans. This fight needs to happen.
Thing is, to go that route he would need to make sure he balanced it being a decent payday with it not being too huge a risk (so as to not blow his chance at landing the "big fish" payday of a Saunders rematch...or Golovkin, although you're right, he'd get brutalized) Lemieux is probably too dangerous. Rosado, Stevens or Murray are good targets.
Anybody who hits as hard as Spike can put Jacobs to sleep if he lands, so he has a punchers chance but that's about it. I'd say he can have a good go with any of those blokes, Lemieux would be a big favourite but the others would be close to 50/50. I think he loses to Murray in a stinker and beats Rosado in a slug fest. Stevens is a coin toss, shoot out.
That's why I put David last, and I was hesitant to add him as well, based on styles, I lean Lemieux, maybe they can face each other after Spike gets schooled by Billy Joe again, in a battle of the Saunders victims as a cash out.
As already stated Jacobs will wreck him. I would rather see Spike fight Rosado next and if he wins maybe Lemieux after.
Spike should first fight Stevens, that makes the Lemieux vs. O'Sullivan match easy to sell ("the two white boys that knocked out the dangerous Curtis Stevens!"), and then if he beats Lemieux that in turn makes the Saunders rematch palatable ("this isn't the same Spike as last time, he's helping to clean out the division with wins over Douglas, Stevens and now Lemieux")
stevens wont come back fighting spike. he needs a tune up . after get smacked by lemmy he mite be done for good.
