WHat do people think of Daniel Jacobs.....

he looks like a great fighter but has been in with tomato cans so far...

i wonder if we will be like the other brooklyn prospects that have come up short so far....

No I think he'll be a great fighter. We still need to find out what intangibles he has.

Well I think he's got a grand total of 9 fights on his resume.

I think he'll be a great fighter for years to come with tons of marketability to boot.

Power in both hands, young, ethnic, BIG New York roots...yeah...marketable.

And he's really not fighting in the proper division. He'll likely move upwards to SMW (and shortly) where the true heavy competition lies.

I predict the young man is a future ATG.

Jacobs is a LOT better than the guys in the first post. All of those guys had some obvious physical flaws they needed to overcome. There's still a lot he needs to prove in terms of fighting real opponents, but he has all the physical tools and a good enough amateur pedigree to believe that he'll be a top level fighter. The Brooklyn fighter I'd be more apt to compare him to if you're talking about people who have fallen short is Jaidon Codrington, who looked like he might be the total package until his chin got completely exposed. Plus, he never really improved his footwork or defense over the course of his career, which can be a kiss of death. For a great physical prospect, the drive and ability to learn and improve is just as important as having all the physical tools.

Plus, on what planet has Zab Judah fallen short? Yeah, he never became P4P #1, but he was a top 20 P4P fighter for a while and a two-weight class champ.

I think you're misplacing this with Thunder. He has nothing against black fighters, best I can tell. He just has a strong bias in favor of Canadian and Eastern European fighters.

Danny Jacobs is the guy I'm putting my money on. Yes, there's Gamboa out there, but I'm betting that Jacobs will be very successful. Jacobs is gonna rule the MW division in a few yrs

Danny jacobs is my favourite prospect at the moment, he looks something special, really fast hands for a middleweight, good combos, power, needs a bit of a step up in class so we can see his defence and chin tested but so far so good, the talent seems to be there to go far.

Definetly will be marketable, seems like he has a bit of character to him when i've heard him speak, if he is as good as he looks he will be a superstar IMO
