Rematch would be nice, just to see if Garcia can make adjustments and find a way to handle a style that seems to give him a lot of trouble.

Lets think about this, why isn't the news that "Garcia is vacating the unified titles"???

Like why fight a guy for no belts at 147 when you can fight for the unified 140 lb titles?? All because Danny Garcia got too lazy and can't make 140 anymore? That's only going to help Danny, that's not going to help Herrera. he is comfortable at 140. I mean if you can't defend your own titles, why should you demand a rematch in the next weight class for no title? Makes no sense.

This was a serious blow to Danny's credibility. Even if he was going to move up to 147, he should have done it while looking like the 140 lb champion. The way he gave an underwhelming performance, starving himself, really puts a cloud on his whole career.

Don't get me wrong, I like Garcia, but his claim to fame was his KO over Khan, who again was overaggressive because he got robbed against Peterson. (you can't deny that)

It was a lucky punch, not to take anything away from Danny, but come on. He fought a shot over the hill Morales twice, a Morales that couldn't even make weight in the first fight and still nearly beat Garcia. He got busted up by Zab Judah, in a fight that was much closer than the scores indicated. I'm sorry, but this guy's been protected. And I don't see how Garcia could compete 147 vs some of these guys.

He's a good 140 lb fighter, he's got above average punching power, but he's not a great boxer, he doesn't have great footwork. I'm not a hater either, like I really liked the buildup to Judah - Garcia, that was a really good fight, but like he never took that rematch and now this crap about moving up to 147 and using the weight as an excuse as to why he lost is just BS man.

Danny starved at 140 for his last fight which is why this was his last fight at 140. 2nd he partied too much after the Matthysse win which led to his inactivity. Third, Herrera is a pretty good fighter for an encore fight after a big win, And lastly, stop lying about the Judah fight. I rooted for Judah and Danny was not busted up and nor was the fight close.

If Danny is moving up then there is really no need for a rematch but if he stays at 140 then a rematch is warranted. He needs to set that **** straight because there are too many questions unanswered. He can't live it down.

Garcia was definitely busted up vs Zab. It was a bloody mess, Danny had blood pouring out of his forehead and Zab came on strong in the last 1/3 of the fight.

You're right that Danny partied too hard. Who's problem is that? Herrera's or Danny's?

El Maestro puts on a boxing clinic, and all Danny can do is stand there and throw wild hooks all night? Then after the fight complain about how tough it is to make weight and talk about moving up to 147? That's not impressive at all, it's pathetic for a guy who has been pushed by a guy in Angel Garcia who talks smack about how Danny is gunna whoop everyone before every fight. Danny said to Herrera at the weigh-in "I'm gunna tear that ass up". He said that then got straight up taken to school by a better boxer. That ain't no champion, I don't wanna hear them say real champions find ways to win, that's just a front because he knows he lost and got a "hometown" decision because his dad is from PR.

    No robbery.
    He beat him.
Herrera makes for an ugly fight.
    All his fights were ugly.
    Terrible style.
    Cant break an egg.
Who wants to watch that when there are so many opponents out there to make a much better exciting fight.
Herrera will have trouble getting big fights -- not because fighters are scared of him or cant beat him -- but he makes for a bad contest.
    BYE Herrera.

Dawson getting KTFO and Khan getting stopped by Garcia were 2 different things. Dawson got KTFO cold in the very first round.

Khan on the other hand was controlling the fight vs Garcia for the first two rounds and became over-aggressive after getting robbed by Peterson in this prior fight. He got hit and knocked down, but actually got back up and fought on. There's a difference between the two fights, obviously. Dawson's getting KTFO was much worse, however it is similar in the sense that going down to fight Andre Ward contributed greatly to Dawson getting KTFO so cold like that. But in Khan's case, most of the ringside observers had Khan defeating Peterson, and it was a split decision where 1 judge had it a comfortable win for Khan, and the other two judges had it to Peterson by 1 pt.

He needs to stay away from Herrera. That's strictly from a business standpoint to ensure he keeps his train on track. He got the nod....it was unpopular but he can now move up to 147, secure bigger money fights and rebound. He lost in the eyes of the strong majority but it wasn't like he was completely dominated....he made it a competitive scrap....Many write it off as a bad night.....I know it had everything to do with a very poor styles match up by his handlers. It happens.....He just needs to move forward and hope to never have to see Herrera across the ring from him ever again.

How would fighting one division north of where they currently fight NOT be an excuse for either?

    ?

Everybody and their mama scored that fight for Herrera.

That is the sort of thing that needs to be rematched, especially when you were the massive, gigantic favorite and most people think you lost.

That's what I'm saying. But the only camp talking about moving one division north is the Garcia camp. So it would be them making excuses, not El Maestro! :yep
