A bit of both I think.

Mundine had some very good handspeed and movement that Danny couldn't come to grips with (in fact a washed up Mundine still troubled Green greatly with diminished versions of these in their rematch years later). But Green undoubtedly had to torture himself to get his naturally well built 6"1 physique below 168 and it as bound to catch up to him eventually.

All up I'd class it as a great win for Mundine against a still very good version of Green (though not as good as the Green who stopped Eric Lucas and gave Marcus Beyer all sorts of problems a few years earlier).

Mundine hit Green from behind with a coward punch in the 1st round. Green did well to not only get up and fight and win that match, but to fight at all.
