No matter what happens in his final fight agaainst Chisora i would just like to take a moment to say thank you to Danny Williams for a very good career and whilst he has had his critics he can go out with his head held high. A very good British Heavy who has shown great heart and seems a decent bloke aswell. Personally i was never a fan but after the Mark Potter fight where he won with one hand he proved that no matter what anyone can say he has a huge heart, and won a fan in me that night. In years to come he will be able to tell his grandkids that he knocked out one of the biggest Legends of Heavyweight boxing in Mike Tyson, after taking some huge bombs that would have flattened better fighters than him, no matter how shot Tyson was, how many guys can say that. He also took some huge punishment from a prime Vitali Klit and once again, kept getting up showing his heart and desire. He may not have been the most popular or talented guy in the world but bloody hell he deserves massive respect! Good luck in your future Danny and who knows, they say every old fighter has one more fight in him, i hope he does and goes out with a win which would be a great way to finish a fine career. Cmon Danny, Kick Chisora's ass!!!!!!!
Ive stated before, that he was the most talented British Heavyweight Since Lennox Lewis. And its no joke, when i say that..!! Danny Williams has been a great fighter, and a true warrior. He's been one of the fighters, i reallly really support. If David Haye was knocked out in his next fight, i would'nt really be bothered. Danny Williams was one of the last british heavyweights i was bothered about.
Question: Could the best version of Danny Williams have won a heavyweight title against one of the lesser champions of the past few years Maskaev Ruiz Rahman or Briggs maybe? I think possibly
Definitely one of the best servants of British boxing in the past decade some incredible highs and some terrible lows but one of the most exciting fighters in terms of you never knew what you would get and much more talented than many give him credit for and best of all had the heart of a lion.
I dont know about that definitely would have been a good all British matchup prime for prime i think. I can imagine it having more knockdowns than the Klitschko fight and on both sides. Dont think Haye could knock Danny clean out and i think if Danny could land he would definitely cause Haye some major problems but i think Haye would just be a bit to savvy for him on the night but the more i think about it the more intresting matchup it becomes
