Williams and Jimmy were staying at the same hotel as Tyson for their fight in Louisville. As Jimmy tells it, Danny is not the most confident of characters before he fights and was absolutely shitting his pants about fighting Iron Mike.

So they decide one morning to go for a run a couple of days before the fight. They come out of the hotel room and go to the elavator. The elavator door opens and lo and behold, Tyson complete with his entourage are already inside on their way down to the lobby. Danny backs away from the doors whispering to Jimmy that he didn't want to go inside the same lift as Tyson.. "It's ****ing him Jimmy, let's get out of here."

Jimmy calmly pushed Danny inside the lift and they all went down together. Apparently, from that moment on, Danny was a changed man after getting over his fear of Tyson and took that attitude into the ring with him. The rest, as they say, is history.

Just came across this youtube clip. Amazing stuff. Williams' career has been odd to say the least:

Another British fighter to retire this year and not get from the sport what their ability, effort and heart deserved. With 1 arm he can deck all the lairy ****-heads on a Friday night when he starts his new career. Cant wait for Upton Park next week for what hopefully will be a great swan-song for the Brixton Bomber

He never comes across as if he's scared...? but i remember people saying, earlier on in his career.

That he smashed his room up, before one of his fights....

Because he could'nt cope with his nerves.

Doesnt matter how shot Tyson was, Danny still had to absorb a great amount of punishment before he landed the KO blows. It really was a great night for him. I'm going to miss him alot.

Just have to erase the last year of his career from my mind, as he was a sad state then :-(

They boo'd Danny and cheered the **** Chisora :patsch :?

Kinda glad that Mitchell lost, because the crowd was full of idiots lol. BUT did anyone see that fella with the sign that said THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES DANNY? A lot of people laughed, I thought fair play to him.

I heared some boo's for Danny Williams, they did'nt cheer any of the fighters to be honest.

Thats how i know, that they were'nt really a boxing crowd...just a crowd full of ****s.

Thats how far boxing has slipped, its ****ing dead and it depresses me.

If Danny Williams had fought like a warrior during the 1970's or 1980's, i bet you the people at West Ham would of cheered, this british warrior out of the game.

Because back then, fans where educated, and it was culture.

    Now.........

That crowd at West Ham, was just full of ****s and people who where bored and just wanted a night out.

whatever the ups and downs and faults in his career, he was very sucsesfull, fought all the main contenders, nothing lasts forever, and he's a lot to look back on, good luck to him, and i hope he earned plenty, and can have a good retirement.

    biggest misconception about the man.
