Danny Williams, a brave warrior...and true champion. Even at the very end, he had me going.................. What a warrior, and what a man. Come on Danny..! Come on..!
Danny had a rmarkable career, From being a small heavyweight amateur at 201lbs, to becoming a 165lb solid pro monster who gave us a night to remember when he beat an aging Tyson in the United States. I rmember him doing a tv series about sports performance when he was young man called the contenders.. He was always a great cat, a mans man who often made mistakes but always made up for them with brave outlandish accomplishments.. The Potter fight.. The Tyson win, The loss to Klitschko, The dreary commonwealth fight with Harold Senior, The loss to Sprott.. The win over Audley.. The decision to fight Samil Sam when he was dreadfully Ill, That fabulous Ko win over Kali Meehan....... I'm gonna miss Danny like he was a brother....
I hope this is for good. Although I believe over twelve rounds he would have knocked Baker out his best days are clearly behind him. I certainly dont wanna see that happen again. Memories from the Potter, Meehan, Tyson and Sprott fights in particular will stay with me. Enjoy your retirement Danny and keep it that way.
Good time to go. He was beaten by The Fridge. That is terrible. I'd pay to watch them in an eating competition though!
I wondered why Mr. Kipling's shares had fallen 20% this morning. Seriously though, best wishes to Danny in the future. Even if sadly, I'm not convinced this retirement will stick. Not trying to be snarky, just being pessimistic.
Well done Danny. Best decision he's made in years. He should have retired since his loss to Vitali. Danny went on to loose handsomely to obscure guys no one had ever heard of and got beaten up badly in the process because mentally he was no where to be seen.
Good decision. Really hopes he sticks with it. Just a shame he couldn't go out on a more positive note but I guess in some ways it's what he'll always be remembered for.
