Please. I thought you lot were better than the general. it's clearly a wind-up, probably from BN24 or something equally ****.
If he made 160lbs, he could team up with Kerry Katona and endorse some crap slimming products in 'celebrity' magazines. It'd be more profitable than fighting a guy who has a 0-3 record. Even if water/glycogen accounted for 25lbs, he would still need a calorie deficit of 350,000Kcal (very simple logic of 1pound fat = 3500kcal) to lose the rest... (of course, this isn't actually going to happen)
Anyone can fight anyone so long as the fight is sanctioned by an organisation ie the BBBoC. Will they find someone willing to sanction this farce? I doubt it
And it may sound strange, but I'm not totally against this fight. I'm not going to tell a man to quit his livelihood if he wants to carry on. But at least he is fighting a complete nobody who can't hurt him. If he is to keep boxing, he should just stay at this level where he won't get hurt
What about the opponent though? If a middleweight who clearly can't box at all gets cracked by a 280lb fighter who can still demolish better opponents than him, he could be badly hurt. At least fight a nobody your own size.
It all depends on the guys weight, even though he has only had three fights he has put on or dropped about 15lb each time. If he has ballooned more since then and is at about 200lbs then it will probably get sanctioned abroad, not sure where the fight is meant to be happening though. The less press this fight gets the better
Yeah it wont be UK....and agree with Baj the guy he is fighting could be seriously hurt if alot smaller/lighter, I dont really want to know anymore about this. Good luck to him but should call it a day or stay as a heavyweight and become a gatekeeper/Journeyman. But then he himself risks getting hurt. What about Williams v Harrison Brit superfight!
Danny is a great dude. He also has a very good head on his shoulders and other ways of making money. Never thought he would be the type to overcook it like this. :-( Everyone has had more than a word with him, btw. You only have to ask Spencer Fearon about that. But you can't make a guy stop. It's his life.
You no what, I didn't even think of that atsch My post was directed to Danny fighting on, and didn't really consider his opponent
It's fair enough though. This thread is more about the concern with Danny Williams because we all feel like we know him more than some random German dude. Like Slip said, better people than us have already spoke to Danny but sometimes there's not much you can do other than just hope he no longer get sanctioned to fight.
