At least Danny has his post boxing career sorted. Here he is in training :lol:

Still one more fight for Danny though. A rematch with Zoltan Petranyi on June 10 who Danny beat TKO3 in 2005. Petranyi "celebrating" his 46th brithday by getting "revenge" on a shot fighter who battered him in his prime. :-(

    ----

Danny Williams, former British and Commonwealth heavyweight boxing champion, recently completed his close protection officer qualifications and plans to join the security industry later this summer.

He said: “The training was more intense than I expected. There is so much stuff you have to know. You have to learn about law and anger management. It is not about standing there looking intimidating. You have to think.” He even found there was more to unarmed combat than he expected. “I thought that part would be a waste of time for me, but I learned new things and really enjoyed it,” he said.
Danny went on the three week close protection course run by Wilplan. Gary Williams of Wilplan said: “He was model student. Really keen to get it right and work as part of a team. That is the big difference for someone of his background. You have to be thinking of the team of people you are with, as well as those you are protecting.
“Close protection officers need not only to be alert in the immediate, but plan ahead for a client’s personal and security needs. They have a huge responsibility to assess an ever-changing environment and be able to make quick decisions that lead to the safest outcome. It is a challenging role that needs someone motivated and professional, all of which Danny demonstrated to a high level,” said Gary.
However Danny will be contesting one more fight before starting his close protection career. “I want to retire with a championship title.” So on June 10th his opponent will be Zoltan Petranyi as he aims to claim the Universal Boxing Organization’s European heavyweight title. “It was an offer I could not refuse.”
Danny, known as the Brixton Bomber, has been 16 years as a professional fighter. “I’ve been boxing 30 years amateur and pro which is a long time to get punched in the head,” he jokes.
Like many athletes, boxers are looking for alternative carers in their late 30s. Danny has loved his job, with the bonus it has bought him a house, two flats and setting up his children in private school. “But I want to keep working to comfortably see them through school,” he says.
Danny plans to make a clean break away from the sport in June. “I have just passed my SIA exam so, now, I am a fully qualified Close Protection Officer. I am used to working away from home, and am hoping to take corporate or celebrity work at home or abroad,” he adds.

I will never forget the moment he came back from a dislocated shoulder to win with a sensational knockout fighting one armed, beauty of a shot.

It's been "one more fight"/retirement announcements for a while now, I hope he can stay away from boxing his chin and balance is totally gone.

Best of luck to Danny in his hopefully final fight. He's often been an infuriating fighter to follow and certainly was never the same fighter following his weeble impersonation against VK.

I for one hope he can flatten petranyi and retire with a belt of sorts. By all accounts he's invested the big paydays wisely which is unfortunately all too rare in this game.

1 more fight would further convince people that if **** goes down he could get ****ed up and not help you at all.

Always liked Danny, he had good run he should just hang em up now.

As for being a bodyguard, you wouldn't like to think he was having one of his less confident days if it kicked off would ya.
