"According to a Sowetan newspaper British champion Danny Williams is set to face South African Francois Botha for the vacant WBF heavyweight title in Cairo on November 30th.

The card will be the biggest boxing promotion in the land of the Pharaohs and will be held just yards from the historic pyramids.

An excited WBF African president Howard Goldberg described the fight as possibly the biggest involving his world body.

“I told every one that we are committed to improving ourselves and affording opportunities to fighters who otherwise would never have had an chance to fight for a world title,” he said.

The show will be promoted jointly by the an Egyptian promoter in association with Thinus Strydom who is Botha's co-promoter.

On hearing the news of facing Williams, Botha said his goal to recapture a world heavyweight title had been rekindled.

“I believe I can win another world title and this fight offers me that opportunity,” he said.

Botha like Williams fought Mike Tyson, Botha was knocked out in five rounds in 1999."

Isn't Danny set to rematch sack of fat McDermott?

I guess the Botha fight would be a better way to go.

Unless he wants the squits when he's in the ring (so to speak) I'd avoid the bloody food over there, easier said than done where Dannys concerned.

Nice earner for Danny. He still does not have it mentally and the guy is going to get seriously hurt if he continues with absorbing lots of power shots and making wild swings. Not that Botha has much of a power shot.

Nice to see DW fighting for a title Audley won from the Dutch Sonny Liston.

He tried "UFC" aswel, did he?

Regardless of dannys performance against Big John he can still fight a bit, just look at the fight against the supposed prospect in Spain.

Should be a win and some food on the table <tsk> for Danny

He`s never fought in the UFC. Im not sure if he`s done MMA but he was definitely in the K1 for a while and routinely got the **** kicked out of his legs.
