Williams imo. Tyson and RJJ are/were both shot but Calzaghe's a lot better than Williams ever was so it was a bigger achievement.
Williams easy. He was a HUGE underdog for a Tyson who was apparently on the 'comeback'. Calzaghe was already a world class operator like him or not and beat a shot to **** roy jones. Calzaghe was a heavy favorite with neutrals.
Please the only way Danny Williams "won" was when tyson tore out his knee. Please watch the first 2 rounds over again. Calzaghe actually beat his opponent, whereas tyson was unable to continue and williams was given the win.
Right but that goes in the window.Even more why it's a bigger win,he had no chances whatsoever,I believe he was down on all 3 cards at that moment.
Williams. yson was perhaps Williams biggest win and big Danny never really hit those heights again. Calzaghe had beaten other big names throughout his career.
I know Tyson injured his knee but did you miss the twenty plus punch salvo that dropped Tyson on his ass? He wasn't "given" anything. :blood
Obviously, without question, Williams, of course. The victory over Tyson is Williams' big career defining moment. Calzaghe has done a lot more in his career, and will be remebered for other things (46-0, World Champ for ten years etc.) and the Jones victory was a nice payday and a big name on the resume. How can you even compare the two, in the way you have :huh
To the boxers themselves, the Tyson win was much more important for Danny. It's by far his best win, faded as Tyson was, wheras RJJ isn't for Calzaghe.
THATS WHY I SAID WATCH THE FIGHT. Tyson couldn't even move around when Williams "unloaded" those 20 or so wild haymaker totally unskilled shots. Tyson couldn't defend himself. Yeah those shots were soo great that Tyson, if you re watch the fight, takes them all before sitting on the ropes fully cognizant and simply quits b/c he knows he can't move well at all, and he can no longer get torque on any shots. WILLIAMS WAS ON ***** STREET SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE THE INJURY. Williams showed heart yes, but he was in the right place at the right time (when tyson got injured) to get his "CAREER DEFINING WIN" which is laughable.
:blood I've seen the fight you clown but you obviously didn't read my post. I have already acknowledged that Tyson hurt his knee but Williams still needed to win the fight. I could name a handful of fighters that Tyson has beaten that probably would have still lost that fight despite the injury. Williams survived the onslaughts when Tyson's knee was fine. Too much emphasis is put on the injury in this case and name me another heavyweight around that time that was unloading 20 + salvos at heavyweight. Oh and unskilled shots??? What the **** are you talking about! Back to the point - that was one of Danny's biggest moments whilst Joe has continually performed against the best. Simple.
