According to setantasports.com Danny Williams will defend his British Heavyweight title against John McDermott on July 14th. Williams will also be fighting Konstantin Airich this month (30th May).

After Big Johns last fight he made it pretty clear he didn't fancy fighting Williams.

I can see big John stopping Williams with ease if Williams comes in anything less than 100%. John has improved alot and is a decent domestic fighter. Williams could have been a fringe contender but in reality he is a domestic contender at best.

Well Euro level currently means title shot level at heavy so Williams is definetly not at that level. If Williams could be bothered getting his head and body right for a fight then he could still be a fringe top 30 contender. McDermott is very average and a decent domestic fighter, nothing more.

Wow what a fall from grace Not so long ago Williams was getting world title shots and had some recognition as Mike Tysons conquerer. Now his facing John Mcdermott? Anyone have any idea as to why?

Yup, Williams is disappoiting, his lack of focus and wheight problems have taken the best of him.

Yet, I still believe a 240lbs focused Danny is good enough to be top 15 in the division.

I think he beats Airich and McDermott and then lands a nice important fight after that.

Williams will stop Big John - you can take that to the bank.

Danny is too skilled and has too much power for McDermott to handle and although John has improved, it won't be enough to cope with Williams.

    Williams TKO 9

    Thats a bit harsh mate!

Im not even a Williams fan but if you can name 30 heavyweight contenders that would beat a 100% mentally and physically in shape Danny Williams then i would be very surprised.

A 60% Williams blows out Fat ass McDermott within 4 rounds at most.

Thats the crux of the matter right there; if he was 100% mentally and physically there, then he would be in the back end of the top 20 for me.

But the fact is that he usually isn't.

    Williams early. Real early.

    McDermott looked terrified against Skelton.

I expect Williams to stop McDermott before round 6, even on a bad day Danny has more class than Mcdermott.

Im a fan of Danny Williams i have followed him for years and he deserves credit, I think he can o better than Brit title level, I hope he gets another crack at another ranked european fighter a Krasniqi or a Samil Sam rematch maybe. World level even in his prime was always going to be a bit of a stretch, and looking back fioghters like Corrie Sanders were supposed to become victims of Danny Williams at one point...ironic that Sanders is the one with Wlad on his cv and the WBO belt in his display cabinet...

    Danny TKO 5 McDermott.
