Read in the metro this morning that there has been some interest from Sam Peters camp in a fight with Williams. Its probably nonsense on par with the proposed Peter - Harrison or Peter - Skelton fights. But theoretically, if this fight was to happen how do you see it going? Could a focussed lean sub 230 lb Danny Williams beat Sam Peter?
It makes more sense than either Skelton or Harrison - because at least Danny will try and win the fight. He is also more deserving of a payday than either of those two. If he comes in 230-240 I give him a chance - any more and it won't happen.
I agree Peter is a walking W for someone - Danny would be able to outbox him if he comes in at the right weight. But watch the uppercut.
I'm not much up with the domestic heavyweight scene at the moment so I have to admit to not knowing what Dannys opponent on Friday is like. I have never seen McDermott fight...what is his skill level like? I do know that with those boz eyes he looks one scary ****er when doing the FFN promo...its like a scene out of Deliverance
Judging by his level of competition - he probably isn't up to much. But with Danny you never know what you are going to get - either a world beater or a guy who would be TKO'd by a flyweight.
I can never work that out...is it lack of motivation, or belief? He certainly looks to have the equipment for the job.
A lack of allsorts. He certainly hasn't been guided as well as he might have been - and in Ricky Hatton's book there is a reference to Danny being low on confidence.
The man beats Tyson up and lacks confidence, its certainly a strange world...I remember the references in Hattons book come to think of it.
I like Danny, he comes across as a top fella. Dunno what the missing ingredient is, must just be something mental I assume.
vs peter would be a good fight for danny which he could possibly win but i dont think he would hold on to the title for long if he tryed to unifi with Wladimir that would be the end of he's run as HW champ.
This would be a pretty dumb move by Peter if true. If you want an easy pay day then why fight sombody who is **** 80% of his fights but world class in 20% on a good day Williams could give Peter a real boxing lesson.
If it is the same DW as in his previous fights we will get the usual abosorb as many shots from the other guy and take wild swings every now and then in the hope 1 connects. Sam is quite poor but he should have more gas in the tank than the likes of Platov and the guy DW boxed a few weeks ago.
