    Williams fighting fit

Danny Williams has insisted he still has the stomach for the fight game after dismissing rumours of his retirement.
The 34-year-old Brixton bomber was last seen in the ring in March as he ripped the British Heavyweight crown from the previously unbeaten Scott Gammer.
But Williams, best known for his four-round demolition of Mike Tyson in 2004, rubbished talk that that would be his swansong.
Williams said: “I was just dieting and training, getting myself fit.
“Now I’m just waiting for the day to show people what I can do, to prove to people I’m the number one in Britain.”
Williams’ career appeared over after back-to-back losses to Matt Skelton and Audley Harrison in 2006, but the Londoner upset the form book with his knockout of Gammer.
And now Williams, a veteran of 43 fights in a career lasting 12 years, has his sights set on the history books.

Williams stands one bout away from surpassing Sir Henry Cooper’s record of 15 British or Commonwealth title fights.
And the former World title challenger admitted that was an inspiration to continue.
He added: “That’s a big ambition – I’d love to beat his record.”

Thanks a million for the article. He will be back. He was in perfect shape against Gammer, actually felt sorry for Gammer! I watched the Potter fight again last night.. Watch his face when Williams knocks him out! He is completely out of it. Dannys a legend, mark my words, his next fight is going to set him up perfect for a massive showdown.

I think Williams is great. He is so interesting as you never really know which danny will turn up but he alwasy has loads of heart. Met him at an autograph signing session last year, got him to write : To JLB , stay off the Mr Kiplings, DannyWilliams. Really nice and polite guy. Get back in the ring and win Danny!

Hey maybe you should have wrote one to him saying that! All jokes aside this guy is the best heavyweight in england, maybe in the world.

Im not going to lie.. Klitschko hammered him.. but why? All vitali does or did, is stand at range and punch. If he was any shorter he would have lost dannys fight, and maybe a lot more. Also he hit danny on the back of the head about 20 times. Tyson in his peak was an animal, as was Lewis, but currently, i can't see a fighter beating Danny if he is on top of his game
