KO'd Jhonson in 1 last night which is a pretty big surprise. Anyone know anything about him or seen him fight before?
He's closely associated with the Mayweather Boxing Club and TMT, although I'm not sure he was ever signed with them. He is friends with a bunch of the roster, though, and has frequently sparred with Floyd himself as well as J'Leon Love and some others.
Nah. He is as tough-matched a 16 fight novice as you'll find outside the fast-tracked Olympic gold medal types. He and E-Boy Gomez stole the show in their unbeaten prospects match-up on the Collazo vs. Ortiz undercard. Even before that he was taking on mostly opponents with decent records, a few of them fellow unbeaten prospects, and since has faced just two journeymen to rebuild confidence before getting back on track against 11-0 Josh Conley and then Yudel Jhonson. No signs of him being the ducking type so far.
Him and Hurd have both come out with break out victories at 154 over the past few weeks. Theres a lot of young 154lbs'ers out there with nice looking records. Should be some good fights made in the next year or so, now that Floyd has given up the belts and Canelo seems to not be fighting at 154lbs anymore.
He can't be at much, the middleweight division is abysmal according to some and this guy isn't at much even at that
