I'd prefer to see Donaire fight Montiel anyway.

I really respect what Darchinyan achieved after the Donaire loss - he took a lot of risky fights and, until Agbeko, always came out on top. I just don't enjoy watching him fight though - he has a style which I find borderline-unwatchable.

Donaire needs a fighter of Montiels calibre. We know he's talented but he needs to prove it against the best guys in-and-around his division to completely justify his lofty P4P ranking (Ring have him #4 I believe).

Aaah, another clueless newbie joins ESB. Lucky us.

Here's a good way to introduce yourself. Join a thread where you know nothing. Post a reply that shows exactly how you know nothing.

People here actually know about boxing - not just in the ring but what goes on behind it. Countless threads have hammered home the point that Shaw is the one with a problem; Vic wants the rematch.

It is better to be silent and thought of as a fool, then to post and prove it.

So Hasegawa didn't have a rematch clause?

Donaire is nuts if he thinks he'll reach Manny Pacquiao status of commanding that level of cash no matter what he does.

The "news" saying that Darchinyan backed out seems to be 3rd hand information.

Top Rank told Donaire's mrs something then Donaire's mrs told some Filipino journo.

The reporting coming from Australia are direct quotes from Vic's manager saying Darchinyan had signed the contract and Donaire simply did not.

Now Im not sure what to believe yet...I know for certain Uncle Bob would have pushed very hard to Donaire to fight Montiel as he stands to make the most cash out of it..he has been quoted numerous times saying he isnt keen on a Darchinyan rematch.
I also know for certain no matter what anyone says Vic Darchinyan wanted this fight more then any other and has been calling for it longer and more vocally then Donaire has.

Again the Non-entity shows what he really is.. a Non-entity ..I know he isnt afraid to fight Vic..Id almost laugh at the whole situation if it wasnt so frustrating and disheartening that a fight so many want is not coming off.
Its a shame so many people have gotten in the ear of Donaire...He is such a ridiculous talent but between his succubus and the Bobfather controlling him, his career is going no where. He is planning for Pac like status?

Didnt he leave Shaw because of the exact thing that is happening right now?

As I said its really a shame...Donaire is such a brilliant little fighter but he continues to live up to his moniker as the Non-entity of the boxing world.

the truth is..vic wants the fight bad...shaw wants to punish Donaire for "disloyalty" as he has put it before.

he is really punishing vic and fans by not giving a rematch and a chance for vic to prove it was a fluke ( it wasn't)
