after watching the fight tonight i think juanma's power is a bit overrated and imo i think donaire or darchinyan would have smoke gerry in less than 5 rounds.

Thoughts? How do you see the outcome of the fight if penalosa fights these two possibly future greats?

Lopez's power is not overrated. Gerry for some reason probably had his and chin dipped in the highly polluted waters of manila bay by his parents when he was a toddler that he developed a mutant ability to resist punches and hammer shots to the head.

You could make a case for those two winning a wide UD against Gerry (especially Donaire) but I highly doubt that you can knock them out.

BTW, after seeing Gerry take inhuman punches from one of the hardest hitters at 122 you think he'd be smoked by guys in a lighter weight class!!?

who knows lol..pac started at a lower weight class too, i'm not saying juanma's power is totally overrated but a bit overrated, i know penalosa is tough and all but the guy is old and was from a weight class below so i expected juanma to blast him out 3 rds or less

Considering Penalosa has never ever been off his feet inside a professional ring, maybe he just has special punch resistance and balance?

I'm sure its Dodie Boy Penalosa.

haha, I highly doubt that those two would fight. I have trouble seeing Dodie Boy train Donaire to beat the crap out of his brother :tong

Yes. His brother is the head trainer, but he's in Donaire's corner.

donaire shares camp with penalosa. darchinyan will aso not stop gerry. hell, unless he fights linares at 130 or something, he is not going to get ktfo.

Against donaire, bad match up for gerry. I pick Donaire UD12. (btw the fight wont happen since donaire is training under the watchful eye of penalosa brothers)

Against Darchinyan, i think i would favor gerry slightly, although if darchinyan wins it would be via decision and because darchinyan was the more aggresive fighter
