If Vic does move up to BW after his (expected) beating of Arce, how would he fare against Hasegawa. For those who have watched Hasegawa they will know his record is deceiving, the kid CAN punch. He is also a southpaw, a decent boxer and has shown resilience and a good chin. Vic would test all of these things. He's improved his technique since the Doniare fight, is very heavy handed, and doesn't seem to care about getting hit himself despite being on the receiving end of a heavy K.O loss. Who takes this one? Let's say it's on neutral ground.
I mentioned in the other thread that Hasegawa would box darchinyan's ears off and knock him the **** out. Hasegawa is very and i mean very underrated. He's on the same level as Silence Mabuza and King Kong Agbeko. I hate to say it but he might even be a tad better than Agbeko. Hasegawa KO11 Darchinyan
I actually think Hasegawa could beat Penlosa, and that's no mean feat. He is VERY underrated, but like Chris John needs to get out of his backyard and gain more exposure.
I think Vic's power WILL carry up though....he's just a heavy handed tough guy. I think Hasegawa will treat him similarly to how Doniare did, though I believe Hasegawa to be the superior fighter I think it will take a little longer to break Vic down nowadays, he's more patient. I went for PTS win but I think the fight is a toss-up really, you can never count Vic out.
That's what im thinking too bruh. I think Hasegawa is one step above Donaire in terms of boxing ability and with him being the natural bantamweight, he'd break darchinyan down and drown him late imo. I'd pick Abner Mares to beat him too although he's still a work in progess.
Vic would KO Hasegawa. Hasegawa is a great boxer but he gets hit a lot and against Darchinyan you get hit once and everything you trained for goes right out the window and more often than not you will get hit again. Vic KO 9
Hasegawa doesn't get hit as much as, say, Mijares. He's very mobile as well, I think he would frustrate Vic.
Looks like Vic K.O is surging ahead. Any of the people that chose that care to say why? I don't nessecarily disagree, just interested to hear their reasons.
Would be a great fight. The result depends on two things IMO. 1) How well would Darchinyan carry the speed, power and conditioning to the new weight class. He had troubles with Gorres in his first SFW fight, but everything was OK vs. Kirilov and Mijares, so I think going straight for the title would be a bad idea. Hasegawa is very good, clearly the best BW out there. So the 2) question comes to mind: how well he could read Vic's awkward style? Mijares, about the same size as Hasegawa, had very much trouble ad******g to the Raging Bull, while Darchinyan looked like an awkward master, having no trouble with Cristian's skilled, slick southpaw style. Vic is very very underrated as a boxer with a sense of distance, timing, defense and reading the opponent, it's mainly because after a slow start, Donaire caught him with a perfect shot and somehow that made him an overrated one-dimensional puncher. Another note: although Hozumi stopped Valdez in a very convincing win back in 2008, I don't think he has the punch to make Darchinyan respect his power, and you don't want Vic on your ass all night, because if he cuts down the distance, you can throw your bag of skills out of the window. I wouldn't pick a winner just now, mainly because of the 2 unpredictable factors. BTW there were rumors on a possible Hasegawa-Mijares fight. Any info on that one?
Hasegawa is the no1 bantam out there based on resume..Penalosa might scrap by him H2H. Certainly better then Agekbo from what Ive seen and a better boxer then Mabuza, though Silence has other attributes that bring him up near Hasegawa's level. I dont think Hozumi is better then Donaire though, not in a p4p sense anyway. He has his flaws still and I reckon Nonito is the better boxing talent. Im not so sure on this one...Hasagawa would be a hard ask to step right up to but Ive got this feeling that Vic's style could really upset him. He tends to be a little quiet and picky with his exchanges but then can often lift the pace and trade on the inside. Mijares was shocked into a defensive shell and didnt work like he usually does...The awkwardness, speed and explosiveness of Darchinyan just made him a sitting duck. As crafty as Hasegawa can be..He often fights with his hands down when on the move and can be countered trying to deliver his own counter that he has loaded up on a bit to much or sorta over committed for. His often careful approach at times reminds me of how Mijares was forced to fight that night. I dont know..there are just little holes in his game I could most definitely see Vic exploiting and Im not sure he has the power or mindset that would deter Vic enough. On the other hand he is a solid bantam, very comfortable and strong at the weight...Take Hase down to flyweight Im fairly certain Vic deals with him but combine the fact he is a quality fighter with the fact Vic would be the one moving up then it makes it very interesting...I think either guy could win quite convincingly, it just depends on what happens on the night.
