I just saw in the Australian TV that Darchinyan wants to have as much title in different divisions. They mentioned Hasegawa and Penalosa as possible opponents. I believe that he would be schooled by Penalosa because aside from the size, penalosa is millenium in terms of skills. Even probably in the power division, penalosa has the advantage.
Penalosa's not even worth training 3 months for, Penalsa couldn't do **** against de Leon, how the hell will he "school" vic? if you mean experience as in losing title fights, then yes, penalosa will get tones of expirience, and very early too
Penalosa has never been hurt nor downed that badly. His losses came from SD and UD. Yes he is old but he just beat up a young power(i think) boxer in the Phil VS Mex World Cup.... He is smart and has good adaptability...he may lack on power category but he can sure knock out an opponent deadly. Have you watched his previous bouts where he got outgunned on the opening round and later his opponents is gasping for breath from hard body shots. This maybe a 50/50 at the best...Penalosa would even defeat Donaire for the most part.
I don't think Vic can K.O Penelosa....but Penelosa CAN K.O Vic. Still, Vic has shown a better all-round game lately so he might be content to just keep throwing, using a few of his new defensive techniques and win on PTS. Hasegawa??? Don't be fooled by his 9 K.O's, he packs a serious punch and would spark Darchinyan out. Hope he starts taking some bigger fights soon (i.e in the States) cause he is a serious talent.
Darchichian is not good but Peñalosa has not been great either this year ha had a lucky punch win over Gonzalez, and a win over a bum but nothing more i Peñalosa is not inn his prime and he will become very old overnight, if i was Mares or other young contender i will not hesitate to take that fight.
