:huh Immediately after beating Mbamba, Vic said he wants to keep his focus on American dates from here out and has his sights set on Las Vegas.
This idea was being floated about after Green beat Jones Jnr, with Green co-headlining the card with Vic who was trying to land the rematch with Donaire. Hope this comes off, has the potential to be quite a stacked card, with enough money attached to interest some good opponents.
I mean fair dinkum. You think unless Geale fights Mundine this would sell anymore than 5,000 tickets? I mean really? It dont matter who VD fights, he is so light is will always be a tough sell in Aus. Both on the one card would make it more interesting. But to think they would sell 20,000 tickets is just Shaw trying to build some hype.
and no way Geale will be fighting any big name soon. Wheatley talks it up. What is in it for Martinez? He fights a dangerous guy who may beat him for the same amount of money for fighting a guy who he can whip. I don't know about you, but I would prefer an easy day of work for X vs a hard day, in which you could get the sack at the end of for X. Geale really needs to build some international momentum. having that fight in Hobart on Aussie PPV what a bad choice. Should have been co-feature on Green-Tarver.
Good news Jet!! I wonder if the WBA will santion Vic's fight for the title after Moreno get dropped from super champion? I think they will, santioning fee's are too good to turn down!
Its not set in stone but apparently thats what showtime are looking at doing. The one problem is that cotto v marg is also on that day in NY on HBO.
I agree its going to be tough work going against the big HBO PPV on the same wkend. I actually heard the rumour Dec 17th.
Im sure if it dosent come off Vic will clamour for who ever he can get for a late 2011 appearance. Hopefully in Aus again :good
