Canelo is getting better and better, there arren`t many light heavies in history that could have beat him, he`s far better than Dariuz was.

Now is Canelo era and he is on huge hype train.

While I think for example Nigel Benn had obliterated him with ease.
He is modern era superstar. Father Time will defeat him, I wish to see how he will box when he will be 36 y.o and older, then we might be able to compare him with GGG, not alone Floyd Jr and a lot of other boxers.
Like at HW Patterson was superstar and had been considered as best peek a bo boxer world might have. Until Tyson era.

There are plenty of super middles that Benn didn`t obliterate with ease and he was hurt badly by Galvano in the last round of that rematch and Canelo hits far harder than Galvano did, he`s also a better combo puncher than Benn was.

Of course and maybe King had assumed that Benn is enough old for Gerald to beat up.
What a pitty, mistake had happened.
Especially cool fun is to read some comments how Gerald had " concussed " Benn.

Of course but if he will come with attitude like Gerald had vs Benn, he might had been KOed even faster than Gerald had been finished.
It is posted in internet that Gerald even had promised to kill Benn before their fight.

The problem is that lad needs to be hit properly to finish him and Benn for sure was more difficult to hit really properly than Saunders and Kovalev for sure.
Yeah, Benn might be hit and get down and still there, he had cool roll out with punches landed on him.
After Gerald fight he had been too much insulted by dumb fans and haters, looked over the hill.
Gerald's fans assumed that Benn had still be done after this fight, despite in reality he won 2 fights after this fight.

Canelo is great right now, and I think he could perhaps clean out 175. But I need to see more of him at 175 before I am ready to favor him against someone as talented (and underrated) as Michalczewski.

Michalczewski won WBA, IBF, WBO titles and beat the fighter stripped of his WBC title
Dariusz is a light HW ATG with over 20 defences and won a CW title
I don't imagine Alvarez beating him at LHW

 Lord have mercy. DM would beat the soul out of his body. An old way past prime average sized MW at best GGG jabbed him to death for 12 rounds, DM was a lot bigger than GGG and his pistonlike jab was like right hand thumping into your face nonstop all night.

In Germany, DM by wide UD.
In Vegas, Dallas, San Antonio, Canelo by wide UD.

Michalczewski in his prime would win. He had a awesome jab and that is what gives Canelo problems. Too big,too strong, would jab Canelo silly. If in Germany it would go to Michalczewski, In Vegas it would be another Canelo robbery and his fans would say, deal with it, Canelo got it officially. Get over it, move on, bla bla bla, you know the song and dance.

i've got a new question for you.
who's the best fighter that either calzaghe of DM beat who were in their prime, over the course of 94 fights?

this only requires a one word answer, but we both know you can't do that.

can people please stop smoking meth, take a step back, and get a dose of reality here.
yet again we have a fighter who didn't go to the US, didn't get a career-defining fight against any of the best fighters in the world when it mattered, and 'looked good' against sub-par opposition for most of his career.

    sound familiar?

canelo was fighting floyd when he was 23 or 24.

someone please tell me in one word who the BEST fighter either calzaghe or DM fought who were in their prime over the course of 94 pro fights, and you'll see just how disrespectful (to canelo) and how ridiculous making these sorts of comparisons is.

as much as i agree calzaghe in particular was an excellent fighter, you don't deserve to compared to the best if you spent your entire career avoiding them.

these guys COMBINED had 2 fights in the US, and yet there will be people on this forum who will say that these 2 (who spent their entire career not fighting on the biggest stage of all), were 'avoided' by fighters who did.

its easy to be "talented" and "underrated" fighting your entire career in germany, knowing that as long as you have one belt you can also have a lucrative TV contract to go with it.

you can't give any credit to a guy who lived for that instead of testing himself against the world's best fighters.

ottke, sturm, steiglitz, abraham (at MW).
    all in the same boat.

which fighter did DM beat in 48 fights that would make you think he could hang with canelo?

He beat Virgil Hill from pillar to post, stopped Montel Griffin in 4 rounds, the same Griffin that twice beat James Toney and beat Roy Jones, Graciano Rocchigiani twice. Virgil had just unified with Henry Maske in germany, then tried to become undisputed but got destroyed by Michalczewski. Michalczewski got all the belts but vacated two of them. Then Roy Jones fought Mike McCallum for the vacant belt, basically Roy got Michalczewski's left over's then proceeded to avoid Michalczewski during Michalczewski's prime. That is a super fight that should have happend. I think it was both of their fault though because Michalczewski wanted to fight in Germany and Roy, if he would ever fight him, it wouldnt be in Germany.
