I asked Virgil Hill who he believed would win, seeing as he fought both. Sort of jokingly his response was, "The real German."

 

Just had to resurrect this thread after thinking about this fight today. Virgil Hill ended up losing to DM in the fight directly after his split decision win over Maske. What if Maske had got the decision. One thing is for sure, Maske vs DM would have been one of the biggest fights in German history. I still think Maske wins on points.
