If it goes to the cards, Calazghe wins. Prime Dariusz (the one that fought Hill and Griffin) would have a chance with a knockout win though. I would favour Calzaghe though with a 116:112 UD

This wouldve been a good fight for Joe.

Calzaghe excelled against aggressors, his edge in speed will bode well against DM's come forward style.

    Another Calzaghe UD for me.

I watched the Griffin fight on youtube and Griffin was hitting DM at will but couldn't hold him off.If that had been JC he would have beaten the **** out of DM.Is that how DM always fought?

Calzaghe may not have been able to hold him off either.

Basically, yes. But when you watch more DM fights, you can see a pattern. He starts slow and is inaccurate with his punches. The longer the fight goes the better he gets and the more punches he does get in. Staminawise he was a machine. the more you hit him, the better he gets. These rules were intact from about 1997 to 2001. After that you could see that he had more and more problems to pull the trigger. In his last fight he was as bad in the 12th than he was in the 1st. The DM-rules were no longer intact, basically he was shot. He would have easily beaten Gonzales in his prime. Chances are high Calzaghe would have outpointed DM. DM was never a one punch knockouter, and Calzaghe probably could take what DM dishes out.

    Maybe but I doubt it.

Young Calzaghe (97-02) would be stopped late.

Prime Calzaghe (03-07) would take a points decision after a gruelling fight.

Few here have seen Michalczewski in his prime, but he is the type of fighter who could get to Calzaghe, because some of DM's best stuff was wearing the other guy down by forcing him to fight every second of every round. DM had a chin of iron, plenty of stamina, and guts to spare. Its a pity we never saw Jones vs Michalczewski.

I'll go with Calzaghe to win a decision.

I think Dariusz would win a very close decision kind of veridict where people are split.

I think Dariusz wins it on a late stoppage.

DM was never decisioned in his prime, and he fought mostly in LHW. He also had quite good against southpaws. You have to take into account he was past prime in couple of his last fights (let's say starting from Hall rematch), but prime for prime I would go with him.

DM had better chin and better power. He was quite good technically, and his stamina was superb. He would be also the bigger man, and I think he would catch Calzaghe eventually. Even if not, I am not sure it would be easy for JC to decision him.
