Alot of the guys on DM's record were weak, but he also bashed the true contenders as well, up until he was more or less done. DM would have done just fine in this era, especially in his prime. He would have walked through and stopped Cullum Smith, something Canelo couldn't do.He was a true light heavyweight.

DM always needs a few rounds to warm up, once he does, he's like a locomotive. The result was always inevitable. Watching the fight, you can see that Griffin was in over his head and the roof was getting ready to cave in at any moment, which it did.As for Toney, he never fought somebody with the combination of strength size and aggression that DM had, and nobody with such a power jab either. A shut out loss to jones, two razor close fights with Griffin, and a loss to Thadzi, doesn't convince me that Toney could beat a prime locomotive DM at all. James Toney's ceiling at 175lbs was Griffin, and we saw how Griffin was handled by DM. I dont think The DM that beat Hill would have stopped Toney necessarily, but he would have beat him clearly. DM fought completely differently than Barkley and had a very good jittery in and out, heavy jab kind of movement.
