Knocked out Stevenson, knocked down Andre ward , knocked down Kovalev!! ( in 4th round of there first meeting)
Darnell Boone is a goddamn legend, I'm willing to bet he's fought more future top 10's at MW through LHW than anyone else out there except maybe B-Hop. The guy didn't start boxing 'til he was 19 or something (his little Bro needed someone to take him to the gym), and basically learned to fight on the streets. I think this may have something to do with his unorthodox intuitive style which can really give boxers problems when combined with real KO power. Not only that but must of these fights against future stars were taken at only a week or two notice, making his performances all the more impressive. Darnell Boone - the ultimate gatekeeper - is one of the guys that keep boxing going and making sure there's always fights out there despite all the political **** that goes on higher up the food chain. WAR BOONE.
No it was BS...Stevenson was up way before ten and ready to continue but the ref stopped it...But still don't want to take anything from Boone when he's on his game he can be hell for almost everybody between 160 to 175...If he was properly managed and had a good team to support him especially at the start of his pro career IMO he would have been at least a decent contender.
No. Stevenson rushed in the first round and knocked him down twice towards the end of the first round. At the start of thee 2nd he charged in again and was tagged by Boone on the ropes from what I remember, he got up and was fine but the ref waved it off due to it being so early in the round. Big difference between a KO and a TKO.
:good Boxing IS a team sport. Imagine if guys like Emanuel Burton...Darnell Boone...James Kirkland ect ect ect had Mayweather's team. You should have seen the "gym" Kirkland was "training" in before the Ishida fight.:-( Pit bulls and fighting chickens have better facilties.
There is a bad quality clip on youtube. They are middle of the ring and Boone catches him perfectly and Adonis goes down hard. It doesn't show how he got up but looks like there was nothing wrong with stoppage..
