That's true, like I said if he gave troubles to stevenson and kovalev then he will give troubles to anyone and that includes GGG
There are very few examples of fighters moving down 2 weight classes and having success...especially at his age. I haven't done the research to make that statement with any certainty, but I don't think I'm far off.
boone has some decent results. he is also a five hundred fighter. he is not a future champ. he can continue making a living testing prospects. his scalp is better than his record.
I agree he is like lets say a pitcher in baseball that is 9-14 but with exxtremely good talent. Without having proper management in boxing would be the equivalent of having a bad team but you are a good pitcher. GOod examples can be Zack Greinke or Roy Oswalt having bad seasons because of team performance. THats how Boone is, his record doesnt reflect his talent. Boone should be 30-10 if anything, he is that type.
I thought this was a pretty good read, its himself darnell saying he isnt a journeyman and why . Its an interview fitefansho.blogspot.ca/2013/12/ko-digest-interview-darnell-boone-im.html
That's true, when the fighter is already draining hard to make weight, or just a slickster who is using speed vs bigger guys Boone style, requires him to move...154, he will do what Hagler did when he moved down to middleweight early on...it's never too late
damn yes i forgot, you are talking about curtis stevens and not adonis stevenson here is another great article where darnell says he might fall to 154 fighthype.com/news/article15876.html
Darnell Boone is a journey man. He is no gate keeper. A gate keeper makes sure only reel contenders have a shot. He is no tomato can, but he is a journey man, with a punch. Stenvenson schooled him in his rematch. You don't school a gate keeper, therfore, Boone is a journey man.
You are absolutely correct on 99.9% of your post. The only error is that we were asked to go to camp with Caparello in Australia to help him prepare for a fight. The team then promised us to be able to get on the card, "Down Under". Darnell will not fight above 165 EVER AGAIN! You are absolutely correct that DEEZOL should not have been in the ring with Adonis that night... he was entirely too big. However, Darnell was not going to pass up the money that was being offered. That was his biggest purse in his career, which is closer to being over than starting.
You are part of his team or something? He lasted 6 rounds vs Adonis, he has great chin because its hard to last past 3 rounds vs adonis (donovan george was a beast though). thanks for claryfing, yes it was his biggest payday of his career that night. I just hope deezol wins a title before he retires whether its a world title or not. Jean Pascal was also with Caparello for his preparation. Keep in mind that when Adonis lost to Deezol, he was with promoter Loui Dibella so Adonis also has been mismanaged. Since knowing he had way too much talent, he went back to Yvon Michel and he gave him a second chance. He also went training at Kronk Gym. So the same is happening to Deezol now, when you are with a great team, manager and fans, you will succeed, Adonis being a good example.Darnell Boone deserves a second chance fighting at his own pace and vs the right fighters. Hoping a great 2014 for Darnell.
