Darren's a good fella, I sense he's one more niggling injury away from jacking it all in. I think it's got to much for him and no one could blame him. So frustrating to train so hard, then have to pull out.

    I agree.

I said this on another thread but you can make a pretty decent living out of boxing without fighting.

With Eddie's Sky contract they'll be plenty of commentating gigs for Barker. They could easily pull a few strings & get him on the "celebrity reality" circuit to.

...Yeah, well, he still did better with Sergio, for my money. :bart

Yeah, I always liked Darren. I see it the same with the injuries and all of that. He's just got shite luck. Class act though.

Barker hasn't taken any savage beatings and if he can get fights and get the niggles out the way he could fight on for a few more. It's just that he's pulled out of so many fights now with injuries people are probably loath to make a fight with him. A Macklin/Barker Murray/Lee match up with the winners and losers fighting is long overdue.

If Mackli were to lose his next fight and his world top 10 rating then he would rely on these domestic fights more. Martin Murray agreed a fight recently with Andy Lee but some TV company he is signed with via Hatton turned it down. It's a shame because you just know the fighterse themselves are all on for it.

I wonder if the promoters could all agree a hig reward tournament where the 4/5 of them face each other super 6 style. Maybe if including BJS they could add Craig McEwan to make it 6? Try to get it on every 3 months so it could all be done and dusted in a year?
