I was impressed, but would have liked for Cortez to allow the knockout to come on its own (although he might have done Brinkley a favor saving him a few more can't-miss right hands).
Sexton is technically still unbeaten but really ought to be 9-1-1. Shinny Bayaar beat him clearly. :deal
Round 1 Sexton gets in with busy hands, flashing his jab and right hand out with more attention paid to speed than power or accuracy. Robinson for his part takes it on the ulna and looks to answer back with his own quick face slaps from either side out of his guard, not much distance traveled for his hands. Sexton gets out and hops around, stopping every few steps to throw a flurry. Sexton's mouthpiece comes out and the clock is not paused for some reason as 10 seconds or so are shaved off to place it back in. Sexton keeps hopping around and flashing his hands out, not very accurate at all but winning on workrate due to the lack of any really solid labor to set Robinson apart. 10-9 AS
Calzaghe and Groves hanging out in the crowd...neither even paying attention to the bout, chatting with friends. Photo op. :yep
Round 2 Sexton is doing some good work now, bouncing around Robinson and curling his fists in with a constant light precipitation. Sexton's mouthpiece comes out again! FFS. He bends down and picks it up himself without the referee even needing to intervene. It wasn't an intentional spit. Robinson comes forward with his shoulders tucked up tight and tries to lean forward at angles to avoid Sexton's flurries while walking him down. Sexton's mouthpiece is out again. Back in at his corner - and OUT AGAIN before they've crossed the ring to meet! atsch Robinson comes forward tucked behind his guard but isn't getting close enough to throw. Sexton is dancing around on his toes and hooking away. Robinson persists and gets near enough to land a few nice hooks to the body but largely getting outpunched. Now Robinson's mouthpiece is out. 20-18 Sexton
Round 3 Robinson is actually fighting a lot like a "white Josuah Clottey", as he was called earlier in this thread. He just comes in behind his guard and doesn't worry about letting his hands go until he's all the way in. Sexton is hooking with both hands off the back foot and catching Robinson coming in with some pillow taps to the sides of the head around his guard. Robinson keeps charging in and lands a good hook of his own to Sexton's jaw, hastening his retreat. Sexton gets out and starts jabbing and turning Robinson, exclusively using the left now with his body cheated away as he steps. 30-27
