Round 4 Robinson just pushes his way into Sexton with his arms glued to his face, nearly pinning him in a corner. Now Robinson lands a very nice 1-2 to the face as Sexton is maneuvering along the ropes. Robinson is timing and placing his shots a bit better now. Sexton is circling out wide, no longer stopping to flurry. Robinson gets inside and lands a right hand and then flicks his wrist to land it again without retraction. Robinson is bullying him now, getting in and landing left hooks to the head and body as Sexton tries his best to either shimmy away or clinch. Sexton looks EXTREMELY uncomfortable. Robinson is right in his face, landing uppercuts and making Sexton flop all over the place trying to slide off or tie up. Sexton lets his hands go but they're all weak shots as Robinson keeps shouldering in and pumping his fists. 10-9 Robinson, big 39-37 Sexton
Round 5 Robinson comes forward, teasing Sexton by quickly hitting the brakes and shuffling back a pace out of range with his hands up - not allowing Sexton to greet him with any counters. Robinson has gotten into Sexton's head, just toying with him. Robinson gets in and digs some left hooks to the body. Sexton throws some quick but unglued flurries, hitting glove. Robinson comes forward and whacks him with an overhand right to the side of the head as Sexton ducks forward into him. They throw their rights together on the break and Robinson's is the more telling blow by far. Robinson ducks a Sexton jab, springs off his toes to the left and lands a quick left hook to the jaw all in one motion. Very nice. Robinson gets back in his guard and resumes his beeline into Sexton, absorbing 100% of Sexton's shots on his arms. Sexton isn't connecting cleanly with anything. Work rate wins the 6th for Sexton imo. Robinson easily landed the better shots just not enough of them.
Round 6 Sexton is back to punching on the move, throwing long with his left and leaning into uppercuts aimed to burrow up from under the guard. Robinson is just deflecting most of it and rolling on like a tank. Robinson is coming forward hooking out of his guard, headhunting. Sexton does a good job of targeting the body from outside, landing several shots while out of Robinson's range. Nice right hand by Robinson. Another. Sexton is getting drilled with that whenever he ducks down, his head poking up like a lightning rod. Even
Round 7 Sexton lands left hooks to the body, a bit below the belt line and Robinson scoffs at him for it but doesn't complain to the ref. Repeated borderline low blows by Sexton. Robinson comes forward and tries to jab in but Sexton leans off and plants a nice left upper-hook on his chin. Sexton dances out and then lunges in to clinch. They wrestle until broken up. Sexton throws a left hook to the body and then flurries upstairs while backing out. Sexton doesn't want to let Robinson anywhere near him, obviously reluctant to infight. Sexton circles out, jabbing and flurrying. Another nice counter left upper-hook by Sexton on the lateral move. Robinson coming forward, not getting inside, not punching. Sexton slaps with a right hand behind the ear and holds Robinson for a moment. They grind across the ring elbow to elbow and wind up clinched again, and broken up. Round 8 Robinson comes out clapping with his right and left in succession, but Sexton flips his hands out into his face and then pulls him in for a clinch. Sexton repeats the pattern, grabbing after landing. Robinson's mouthpiece is out. Robinson misses several punches, completely air-mailing a left hook to the body as Sexton hops around on fresher looking legs. Then Robinson drills him with a right hand as Sexton keeps his hands low on the outside. Sexton throws a 1-2 and then a left hook to the body. Again Sexton eats a right with his hands low. Robinson keeps pumping the straight right lead, not tinkering with a successful formula. Sexton uses his feet to carry him to safety, and throws some slapping jabs and rights while negotiating the ropes and corners. Robinson walks him down and chops with his right but isn't finding the target very often as Sexton keeps it a portable show. Sexton clinches for the last several seconds.
