Darren Barker vs Grzegorz Proksa

In fairness to Proksa, he basically taught himself.

He has done quite well for himself, considering.

He doesn't beat Barker, though. Ever.

Barker by a clear decision.

Proksa took two attempts to beat a journeyman, who'd been smacked around several times below championship class.

 

Im 50-50 on this fight. I hope barker wins though. Proksa seems like a horrible arrogant ****. He acted like a spoilt petulant child when journyman hope beat him last time.

was suprised by Proksa's interview after the fight last night, came across as a really nice guy.

Barker would box rings around him though.

 

The fight would look like the one against Sylvester, Barker is too raw to get away with his style against Proksa's slickness.

Proksa wide UD or late stoppage.

 

Honestly, people picking Proksa to stop Barker, and easily? Either trolling or genuinely don't know anything about boxing.

Yeah, the guy who just boxed 20 rounds against a journeyman who had already been stopped twice by domestic level opposition is suddenly going to do what Sergio Martinez struggled to do.

Barker is a FAR better all round boxer, has far more experience at a higher level and would box to a comfortable UD or perhaps a stoppage while making Proksa look crude and wild.

So far there is absolutely nothing to indicate that these two fighters are on the same level.

 

Providing Barker doesnt gas i would expect him to pick up a rather comfortable one sided UD. Wasnt really that impressed with Proska's victory over Kerry Hope in all honesty, lets be honest he done what he was supposed to do the first time round (a performance that really showed Proska's limitations, overtrained my arse). Barker has proven his class by taking rounds off a p4p talent of the caliber of the unorthodox Sergio Martinez, i dont think the likes of Proska really carry a huge threat if Barker can regain that kind of form after his injury setbacks.

 

Everytime Proska begins one of his admittedly unorthodox but crude attacks i see Barker taking a step back and popping him with jabs and straights. Proska's face would be a mess by the halfway point providing he makes it that far.

 

As I Pole I would like to believe that Proksa is a world beater, but it is painfully obvious that he has not improved at ALL in his last few fights. He might be able to pull it off against the likes of Barker, but someone like Martinez would starch him.

Still crude, still wasting tons of energy swinging around wildly like a buffoon, and still too arrogant to box intelligently and pick his spots.

 

I'd favour Barker to win a comfortable decision. Proksa can certainly look flashy and has some nice punches in his arsenal but he can just as easily look wild and off-balance. Struggling against a journeyman like Hope doesn't fill me with optimism.

Barker is a technically sound fighter and I can see him winning this quite handily behind his jab and straight-right.
