its a good indicator of where proska is at as well. having watched both of his fights with hope it looks like barker is a level above him. perhaps with better training and fundamentals he can get there. on what i have seen so far he is some distance off macklin/barker/murray.
:yep Yeah but Hope ceased to be fully conscious after the uppercut. The impact from the looping right afterward came as more of a distant echo in his dream.
Round 1 Jones walks Byrne down and absorbs some jabs and rights on the bicep as he curls up behind his guard on the front foot. Jones is biding his time, not throwing any punches yet. Byrne moves around and pops out twos and threes. Jones gets him nearly up against the ropes by simply tanking in on him, and goes for body shots. Byrne squirms out and slaps away with light left hooks. Jones' output is very low. Lunging right to the body from outside by Jones. Slapping flurry by Byrne, pushing down on Jones' head after he misses a body shot. Right hand underneath the elbow by Jones. Bryne with a good start, 20-18. Expect Jones to come on strong but he needs to do it soon or the rounds are slipping by
Round 3 Byrne is throwing jabs and curving rights on the back foot. Jones pursues with long uppercuts, still very slow. Jones grinds his way inside and lands a low blow. Warned. Byrne is boxing him with flurries backing up, landing only a few times among the many flashes and getting hit in the body with some of Jones' uppercuts. Another low blow by Jones. 10-9 Byrne 30-27 Byrne
Round 4 Byrne is jabbing and throwing overhands, falling in with them. His boxing is coming unglued as Jones keeps pressuring and hammering away over the top, sneaking in left hooks to the body. Jones pressures behind the straight left jab now. Byrne has slowed his output, and is just flapping overhead with his right hand now, telegraphing. Jones is now the one countering, planting his jab on Byrne's chin and getting in plenty of licks to the belt line as Byrne tries to back away or lean in and hold. Byrne's balance is worsening. Head clash. 10-9 Jones 39-37 Byrne
