Commentated on Yarde v Arthur last night and was the best commentator I’ve heard in years. Even more so since football is his speciality. No narrative, did his research, let his co-commentator speak and described the action perfectly. Hope they get him on more.
The problem was Richie Woodhall. He was so biased during Fox Sokolowski. Fair play to Fletcher, he did a good job considering his specialist knowledge is about football.
Fletcher was excellent last night. Looking at his Wiki page, he seems to have become a bit more of a generalist in recent years, but I'd welcome hearing him again for boxing. I still prefer Rawling, and I hope he's back on there, but it's good to know there's another quality boxing commentator out there.
He did/does a podcast with Froch who is his mate and did boxing years ago with some radio stuff too. Where was Rawlings? Darts or just dropped?
He was excellent. He'd obviously taken the time to research the fighters on the bill, something that is beyond certain ''pundits'' who've been involved in the sport for 30 years.
