Legit knockdown? There certainly seemed like there was a body punch for me but commentators seem to think it was just a slip?

    Round 1

McDonnell is leaning forward and trading jabs, firing down from a tight guard. Wood is caught on the solar plexus with a grazing right hand lead as McDonnell lunges forward as Wood is backing up. Wood loses his balance and is ruled down. Wood circles and slashes at the body of McDonnell with left hooks. McDonnell is jabbing down at him as Wood seems to dominate the rest of the round with inside movement, ringing McDonnell and digging to his body.

    10-8 McDonnell

A bit chintzy but technically a punch landed and made him go down. (though you can argue he wouldn't have with secure footing)

It wasn't just a slip. The body shot factored in, at least 50% of why he went down.

They're having a tea party, cups full of hot raging tempest (with a dollop of cream and cube of sugar :)).

    Round 2

McDonnell is getting bullied as Wood switches to southpaw and taps out a rhythm of left or right jabs on the body. Wood spirals in and lands double and triple uppercuts on the sides of McDonnell. A few ineffective jabs and looping rights on the backfoot by McDonnell, swiveling out of position as he throws. McDonnell is pushed onto the ropes and scores a right hand but not enough to steal it.

    10-9 Wood

    19-18 McDonnell

    Round 3

McDonnell is forced into a defensive shell as Wood constantly alternates his stance and keeps the pressure on behind L&R jabs. Wood is pitching in stiff body shots as he walks McDonnell down. High double jab stomped out by Wood on the front-foot. McDonnell is shuffling away, hiding behind the guard. A few counter jabs petering out from McDonnell. Wood is switch-hitting very fluidly and mixing up his attack high and low, showing a ton of versatility while McDonnell shows...nothing but how to retreat and block.

    10-9 Wood

    28-28

I would say that him slipping had a lot more to do with him going down than the punch but yeah technically he did go down from a punch didn't look like that when I first saw it.

Wood is open for the left hook.

Close 3rd round, certainly better from McDonell.
