Looks massive. Shame his career isn't reflecting the fact he's 27. Degale and Groves can afford to take a couple of years to adjust, he can't. Maloney needs to get him fighting once a month till he steps up the competition like Korobov. Would have been much better off going with someone who would take risks like an American promoter of Hayemaker.
Even in his couple of outings Darren looks 100% better than DeGale. DeGale has a huge ego and will be knocked out when he steps it up.
Same as, met him training in Dublin's National Stadium when he was there with the Irish Olympic team, a really decent bloke without a hint of ego. There's a great documentary out there about him called 'Saviours'. I just hope Maloney doesn't screw things up for him.
i met him with Brian lawrence and Salam (whos been arrested for sexual assualt i see) might watch that Docu if i can get hold of it he was a complete topper of a bloke and spoke to us like we had known him for years exactly like how he speaks on the telly i really hope he becomes a great champion so i can boast saying i have a picture with him:good
They all look good to me, including DeGale, and especially Groves. One of the slickest (British) White boys I've seen for a while. Has all the technical and physical attributes, it simply comes down to intangibles and toughness now.
I'm not sold on Groves and that low left hand, its something thats easy to carry off against a certain level of opponent but that can come back to bite a fighter on the arse when he moves up.
