When anyone commits suicide without addressing the problems or writing a note then there will always be lots of different rumours thrown around. The fact is the only person who knows why he did it is Darren Sutherland. Anything else is speculation.
Who gives a **** whether he was gay? It has no bearing on a simple fact: he was deeply unhappy and couldnt go on living. Its a tragedy when anybody commits suicide and, worryingly, its incredibly common in men between 16 and 35. Sadly, threads like these which start with good intentions are filled with ****s like Lirva. A chance to discuss and remove the stigma of mental illness is tarnished by dumb ****s who want to attach pointless claims to very real issues. Gay, straight, childless, whatever he was in trouble and needed help. He wasnt able to ask for it because dickheads like you want to analyse the reasons.
Sutherland was infinitely better than sloppy J and G. From the first pro fight he had he looked on a completely different level. Box, attack, work the body, technically good, defence, the lot. Easily the one to watch and I was enjoying following his career. Not a single person from the Olympics (GB/Ireland) was at his level yet. Even when he fought DeGale in the Olympics, he would have won in a pro fight. They weren't scoring aggression or body shots.
can't remember it 100%. i think it might be a fight where everyone thought he did poor but i disagreed. the thing about darren is every single fight he was working on something and spoke about it. he knew he was a work in progress and was already talking about watching hopkins and mccallum and trying to pick up things from great fighters while working with his coach. every fight you could see him trying to improve unlike degale and groves who seemed to be flawed in abundance. sutherland was alreayd looking like a cross between cotto and roy jones. his style was intriguing but i don't think he had yet settled into whether he wanted to be doing leaping right hand leads or attacking and digging to the body or adapting to whatever was infront of him. huge loss to the game.
People are having a go at Livra but surely we've all heard those rumours. Don't know if it's true or not but I will say the HR manager at my old work was a gay from Dublin and he said Sutherland was known to be gay.
Because it doesn't matter. All that matters is what the guy does in the ring. Who he chooses to **** is his own business.
It mattered to the person who asked the question that i answered, hence the reason I posted it. I don't expect you to understand that though.
I think Lirva was just giving a reason as to why he may have committed suicide. Guy who started the thread was wondering if anyone had any reasons, thats just one.
Don't make out that you're doing a service to anyone. Your conjecture added nothing and answered nothing. But, crucially, Lirva knows nothing about the guy. A rumour, not a reason, is all he offered. If you know nothing for sure, say nothing. It's not right to hypothesise about the reasons Sutherland decided to leave this life.
Just very bad clinical depression same as Gary Speed I think...its not the same as the sunday blues, its a very very serious condition that I have first hand experience of. as for the gay ****, even if he was gay why the **** would he commit suicide over it, Sutherland didn't exactly the kind of guy who would hang himself in shame over being a homosexual.
Here was his bird just before he died Irish model Hazel O'Sullivan so I think your talking shite again lirva This content is protected
Yes because a gay celebrity has never dated a female to hide the fact they gay have they........oh wait. What i find rather disturbing how everyone gets offended at fact he might have been gay, like it somehoe tarnishes his name or reputation. All that shows is your homophobic.
I dont think he was gay at all [not that it would matter] but how many fighters are openly gay? They hide it for a reason.Same as other sportsmen.
