The first link says nothing to prove your point. Basically, they want to do more research to see if a correlation between gay men and a variety of self-abuse is linked. There's no review of multiple studies to draw a conclusion academically.

That doesn't mean that isn't the case, but there is no evidence to support it. It certainty doesn't suggest that being gay is the reason for it.

It's like saying men are more likely to kill themselves because they have a *****. It's a correlation, but not a very useful price of analysis.

 

I think you're taking the "He killed himself because he was gay" comment a bit too literally.
No one is saying that being gay implants depression or suicidal feelings into ones head.But some men may feel shame about being homosexual and what their family/friends will think so may sadly choose a way out rather than face them over it.In that case one would have killed himself not because being gay made him do it but because of worries about the way people will view them.
Depends on what culture/background you come from.

Sutherland I think looks the complete opposite as a young Mike Tyson personality wise and they say in this world kindness can be mistaken for weakness .Tyson coming out the youth jails and that just off the streets .
