Pretty interesting, I think. http://a.espncdn.com/i/infographics/20180911_ggg_canelo_2/best_middleweights.png This content is protected
Interesting. However, i think Hopkins activity level dropped a bit past Trinidad fight. He was getting older, yet somehow still winning (i could be wrong on this) GGG is terrific. I would have loved to seen him being tested vs the likes of Toney, Nunn, RJJ, Hopkins, Benn etc. In a way he has the talent to be a top 5 all time middleweight, just not the competition. But should he win vs Canelo, he probably makes it in the top 10.
He already beat Canelo... on a fair score card. Doing it again at age 36, means he beat a prime top contender at an age when Monzon and Hagler were long since retired. We'll see how it goes this weekend, I think GGG will win impressively. The other middleweight fight on the card, Lemieux #8 rated vs. O'Sullivan #10 is a pier six brawl! Should GGG and O'Sullivan win, I can see that one happening next. The data is impressive, and very much reflects how I'd rank the fighters.
I’m really impressed with Canelo’s stats for a guy fighting mostly top opposition, rather than a bunch of forgettable fringe contenders.
