Have you guys seen this fight yet? One of the best there is Williamson put the "Touch of Sleep" to Byrd and the viewers that night
Yes, I was on the forum during that time. I even helped post a RBR. Needless to say... it was, horrid.
I remember trying to watch that fight. I ended up saying **** it and read a book, the Corrections by Johnathan Franzen, I remember this clearly. It was a good book. Periodically I would look up at the fight, but neither man seemed incline to punch at the other one
You guys wanna know what the saddest part of the fight was???? Wlad begged Byrd to fight him. Byrd had no interest. So IBF had a court deciding who was more worthy to challenge Byrd. Wlad who already destroyed Byrd once and had beaten Williamson was denied a shot at Byrd. And the imbeciles at the court decided by some Don King like logic that WIlliamson is more worthy of a shot. Williamson put on the most disgracefull performance in history of boxing for a fighter who get a shot at the heavyweight championship of the world. While some time later when Wlad got to Byrd who massacred him into a pulp. Andrey
Indeed. Greatest fights since 2000: 1. John Ruiz vs. Hasim Rahman 2. Chris Byrd vs. Davarryl Williamson 3. Zab Judah vs. Junior Witter 4. Juan Manuel Marquez vs. Derrick Gainer 5. Roy Jones vs. Eric Harding
Never seen it. Watched another fight that night im 99.9 percent sure it was Jones-Tarver III another terrible fight but that did have some decent moments.
