Dave Allen comeback continues

Sounds like utter nonsense tbh. £300k for a fight against Dubois? Where’s the money coming from?

 

Yeah I agree, nobody is paying Dave Allen 300k.

The idea of that fight actually frightens me, Dubois would seriously hurt Allen. Hearn did him a huge favour, he should be thanking Eddie for talking him out of it.

 

That's outrageous if true. I'm on the fence if it actually is true or not..sounds ridiculous but in todays world would not surprise me.

What's even more outrageous though is that Dave Allen actually decided to seek advice on weather to accept the 300K and ultimately did not!

I know the damage he would have taken but for a journeyman boxer who has never won any type of title in his life not even at area level, being offered 300K against a fighter who at the time was very much in the prospect category (this was 2019 Dubois was only 22) it's still a bit of a no brainer.

He'll never get an offer like that again I imagine and rightly so.

100K to fight Hughie Fury is itself very good money too for someone of Dave Allen's shockingly poor level- again no title, and Hughie is a non puncher in comparison to Dubois.

A Hungarian, Croatian, Czech or Romanian version of Dave Allen ability wise would do well to get a tenth of that purse for the same fight, so Dave being offered 100K is more than generous.

 

80k for Hammer sounds generous to me!

 

I like Dave Allen but Eddie Hearn was absolutely right there....... he shouldn't be going anywhere near Dubois

Yes he has a superb chin and as Peter Fury said, you need a baseball bat to put him down, but in a fight like that his chin would be detrimental. He'd receive an absolute hiding.... Dubois would seriously damage him and £300k isn't worth it by any stretch.

Those "contests" were the boxing equivalent of witty banter, so they certainly fit in very nicely with what Dave usually show.
