Why is it so hard to believe that Allen outboxed a robot? The only combination AJ has is the straight one-two and right hook. It's not hard to outbox someone with a limited skillset. Allen clearly had his way with that thug.
At least Allen's chin is on another level from Femi who couldn't take one shot from Whyte,. honestly, this proves Femi is not going to be in the game long term.
Couldn't take one shot from Whyte? He didn't go down did he? He got clipped on the button by a shot he didn't see as he was coming forward... HW boxing, it happens. He stayed on his feet. Allen is just one hard *******.
Allen was hit on the button multiple times tonight and I didn't see one wobble. Joshua was out on his feet for several seconds from one hit that wasn't even clean, you say it was I say it wasn't.
As Peter Fury said before tonight's fight, you could hit Dave Allen with a bat and he'd still be standing. Floyd Patterson hit the deck numerous times in his career, George Chuvalo has in many people's eyes the best chin of any HW boxer.... who was the world champion?
The thing is, do we believe novice Allen is as tough as a guy like Chuvalo (unlikely) or do we believe Whyte is not quite the puncher he looked vs Johsua (more likely). If so, Joshua is in huge trouble vs Parker or even Pulev.
This post has aged well, Allen out right exposed as not even able to beat Lenroy Thomas since this hyperbole.
The one thing that most people miss is that Allen is very good (when fit) fluid hard puncher with a good defence (when he isn't in" **** it "mode)
