The amount of casuals on Twitter who think Tyson would win this one shows that, worryingly, there would be interest in a proper comeback.

Dave Allen was speaking honestly - Tyson is so far gone that even an average fighter like him would win easily.

Dave Allen`s statement is very truthful. He realises he would not have stood a chance against a peak Tyson.By making this statement he is pointing out the absurdity of a Tyson comeback.Fair play to you Dave

Allen would ko him easy. How is this a debate? Tyson seems like one of them mental midgets and got battered off Mcbride 17 years ago. How much better if at all is Mcbride than Allen?

    He would.

Tyson will be "sort of" dangerous for about 90 seconds, and by that I mean he would have a chance of chinning an absolute bum, the kind of guy Allen himself would fight as an easy knock over job.

Unless Allen literally stands there with his hands down and his chin in the air, 54 year old Tyson isn't going to spark him in the first minute, he might land a shot or two and make the crowd go "ooooooh" (more likely he just lands on Allen's gloves) but it wouldn't be enough to stop Allen, and then after the first 90 seconds he will just be finished and Allen just puts in a little tickler under the rib cage and Tyson is writhing in agony on the floor.

Think about Hatton vs Senchenko then multiply that from 3 years to 15 years and you have Allen vs Tyson, you just can't fight father time not in your 50s and living the bad life for a decade.

He's quite right. I think he's using his low ability as a fighter to highlight the dangers of a Tyson comeback, which is fine.

Besides, Tyson only looks to be doing exhibitions against other old retired fighters anyway. It's somewhat fair game

Show a few seconds of a 53 year old Mike Tyson hitting the bag and people the World over are saying he's the baddest man on the planet still!

Anyone who thinks Allen would lose to a mid 50s Mike Tyson is delusional.

Dave is clearly making the point that a Tyson comeback at this stage would be absurd.

Any how, it's obvious he doesn't intend to comeback in the "real" heavyweight mix. He'll be fighting in exhibitions and good luck to him.

Tyson had a style that relied on the athleticism of youth. He suffered a back injury in a car accident prior to Bruno 1 and he’s on record admitting that was the beginning of the end of his peek a boo style. He could no longer bend or laterally move his upper body explosively. Many blame his decline on the ‘Rooney’ factor but it was the injury that made his less mobile and less evasive. That decline started in 1989.... 31 years ago. Factor in that Tyson was abusing weed and coke for most of his life and you have to worry for him wanting to fight anyone other than another veteran in exhibitions.

Easy work for Allen if he bothered to train. If he did his usual approach then he’d take a few rounds to see Tyson off. I get the context in his statement, he doesn’t want to see an ATG reducing himself to getting starched by some bang average fighter such as himself. By sounds of it, Tyson just wants to have a bit of a ding dong with someone a similar age, raise a bit of dosh and reminisce.
