I think this is getting announced today (Saturday). *edit* Dave confirms it’s not Parker. I have a feeling it isn’t Price though. Would himself and Kugan be tweeting things like “massive news coming” & “big fight” if it was the much expected David Price? I don’t think so
I could be wrong but if it was Price then I think Allen's tweet about a big fight being announced tomorrow would have been worded differently, as that fight was seen as a natural choice and not much of a surprise. A few hours after Dave's tweet, Parker is tweeting about a fight & liking comments about him fighting in London.
Bad stylistic match up for Allen if this is the case. He gets his head boxed off for 12 rounds, Price is a much better opponent for him
David Price was a great fight and 'what the fans wanted'. An entertaining match up between (let's face it) the two biggest clowns in British boxing. Fun for all the family and somebody is going to sleep. The Parker fight does nothing for Dave's career and only puts him back to square one. He will be on the wrong end of a beating like he took against Ortiz And Whyte. Unless he has asked Eddie for a payday it's irresponsible matchmaking, I wonder if he's thinking PPV for this would not surprise me if he had some sort of bet going behind the scenes that he can get Allen on PPV (at the fans expense)
I don’t know how much more of a beating this lad can take. It’s irresponsible. Give him Pricey instead.
Maybe chisora wanted to much money for Parker or maybe Hearn thinks interest in him is low after the gashi fight but Allen vs Parker is irresponsible from Hearn Allen’s already taken way to much punishment and Parker will put another massive beating on Allen and stop the momentum and good feeling factor Allen has after the Browne fight. You might be onto something with Hearn and the ppv thing, bit like Stevan seagal a movie producer had a bet with a friend that he could make anyone a movie star and took his Aikido teacher and put him in movies.
This would be a sustained 7/8 round beating. I think he would be better off facing Wilder or Joshua and just getting 1 punch KO’d in the first.
