I’m very surprised so many backed Allen. Easy to say in hindsight I guess, but it seemed obvious Price would be a big step up.
I wish I put that tenner on Price like I was supposed to, I completely forgot. Ohara Davies and Dave Allen, funnily enough, remain the only boxers that I've ever made big money from!
Yeah but it also seemed obvious Allen would get to the later rounds and Price would gas/fold. One happened...
I always thought there's be too much of a gap in levels. Everytime Allen has stepped up (Ortiz, Whyte, Yoka.. even Lenroy Thomas to an extent) he's looked poor. Browne is finished (was beating Allen anyway) and Webb has never been much good. Allen has done really well in spite of his ability.. Matchroom did a great job at making him seem much better than he was.
