Cracking match up ! ... I have Jones by late stoppage ... Jones for me was just off the very best bunch of welters at the time. He fought some of the best with credit and beat one of my favs in Kirky Laing in a ******* ... but he would stop Green late IMO .
As much as it pains me to say it, i've got to go for Jones by vicious stoppage. Green would definitely make it competitive (the one of the Palomino fight) especially early but he was just too fragile to beat Colin Jones. The problem for Dave is Jones could probabily take his punch, but there's no way he stands up to Jones' punches for a sustained period especially with his porous defence. Honeyghan/Jones is a better fight.
I see Honeyghan being too versatile for Jones. It would be a no contest, imo. With Green and Jones,Colin stands a good chance of nailing Dave early, but if he can't do this,I see Green having more of a chance later on.
any time i think of green i think of that savage combo leonard stopped him with. good grief it was brutal
A fantastic scrap whilst it lasts, but Jones carried a real dig in his left and would get Green out of there late IMO.
Never knew that Gaz, thanks as always @GeddyLee do you meanHoneyghan would stop Jones inside a round?! What ****ing planet are you on?
1 round? No chance, Honeyghans not that stupid. Jones has a great chance of landing a big punch if Honeyghan comes out all guns blazing like he did against Hatcher, Bumphus and Vaca. Honey would take his time, use his boxing and try and wear Jones down, draw his sting before taking any silly chances.
yeah mate. Greens team knew their man was on the downside but figured that a Leonard fight would be a nice retirement fund, losing without really getting hurt.
Honeyghan would beat Jones convincingly, and well inside the distance, but it would go a lot longer than one round. The Jones boy was tough.
