Local light middleweight Dave Fidler and Barnsleys Lee Noble renew hostilities following the latters win on February 7. Joining them are Chad Gaynor and Adil Anwar, who provide a welterweight battle which will likely see the winner push on for domestic title opportunities. Dronfields Rod Smith, impressive against Liam Cameron back in December, receives another stern test as he goes in with fellow unbeaten, Oldhams Mark Heffron, in a contest that celebrates the fighting qualities of both young combatants. Coldwell is expecting fireworks. In terms of build-up, this rivals any show that Ive ever been involved in, said Coldwell. Sometimes you dont get a straight answer from some promoters and managers but the response Ive had off people in the industry this week has been fantastic. Ive made offers to fighters and the people responsible for them and everything has just run smoothly. I hope that continues because this could be a show to be remembered for a long, long time. Its a massive nights boxing and Im over the moon to be putting it on. Coldwell added: Every single fighter Ive matched so far has the right to believe that hes the favourite going in and its very rare you get that on shows these days. The planning for this show is still in the early stages and weve already got a load of *******s so itll be interesting to see what else I can get added to it because I want May 9th to be a truly memorable night.
What??? No way is Gaynor ducking anyone, least of all Glenn Foot. Last I heard, Foot was stabbed and is still recovering so I think it'd be a bit unfair to stick the two of them in the ring right now. It's a good match once Foot is fully fit, his PF win was impressive and he'll be just as tough if they get a chance to do it again. I'd pick Gaynor over 8 or 10 rounds though.
