Dave Coldwell returns to Ice, Sheffield on May 9th with ‘Unleashed’, and the promoter says he's been working long hours to ensure that his latest effort surpasses that of ‘Pride of Yorkshire’, which featured a cluster of regional derbies.
Local light middleweight Dave Fidler and Barnsley’s Lee Noble renew hostilities following the latter’s win on February 7. Joining them are Chad Gaynor and Adil Anwar, who provide a welterweight battle which will likely see the winner push on for domestic title opportunities.
Dronfield’s Rod Smith, impressive against Liam Cameron back in December, receives another stern test as he goes in with fellow unbeaten, Oldham’s Mark Heffron, in a contest that celebrates the fighting qualities of both young combatants. Coldwell is expecting fireworks.
“In terms of build-up, this rivals any show that I’ve ever been involved in,” said Coldwell.
“Sometimes you don’t get a straight answer from some promoters and managers but the response I’ve had off people in the industry this week has been fantastic. I’ve made offers to fighters and the people responsible for them and everything has just run smoothly. I hope that continues because this could be a show to be remembered for a long, long time. It’s a massive night’s boxing and I’m over the moon to be putting it on.”
Coldwell added: “Every single fighter I’ve matched so far has the right to believe that he’s the favourite going in and it’s very rare you get that on shows these days. The planning for this show is still in the early stages and we’ve already got a load of *******s so it’ll be interesting to see what else I can get added to it because I want May 9th to be a truly memorable night.”

What??? No way is Gaynor ducking anyone, least of all Glenn Foot. Last I heard, Foot was stabbed and is still recovering so I think it'd be a bit unfair to stick the two of them in the ring right now.

It's a good match once Foot is fully fit, his PF win was impressive and he'll be just as tough if they get a chance to do it again. I'd pick Gaynor over 8 or 10 rounds though.
