Moronetti for president 2024, someone must step up their corruption if they want to challenge the current US POtuS.

Dave Moretti is old, I believed he judged Floyd Patterson vs Muhammad Ali I, Nov 22 1965.

**** you for making me check
But the dude has been around since the late 70s. His retirement is long overdue.

No it said earlier in the forum he was 71, if so he would have been more than 13-14 then.

Here you can see search results indicating that his boxing judge ecperiences gioes back to 1977.

Moretti is 78 years old. there’s an article from May 2004 that quotes him as being 59.

That's exactly what I was going off, too.

Hard information on his DOB is surprisingly hard to find.

On the night, and leaning towards Canelo, I scored it 9-3.

Rewatching it, I can say categorically that the correct score is EITHER 10-2 or 11-1.

Moretti has turned in a lot of very dodgy cards, including his Pac Floyd card.

The only positive thing we can say about his Canelo-Floyd card is that it was better than that of CJ Ross...6-6. :shakehead:

    What's the one Canelo round?

It's been nearly ten years since I watched it. I'd have to go back and watch it yet again.

It was a very lop-sided affair.

The old Cliche applies here....Canelo fought the wrong fight.

You don't box with Floyd...you rough him up.

Maidana had the right idea. I scored both his bouts for Floyd also, but at least he made things a lot closer.

The only man who beat Floyd, IMO was JLC. (dreadful scorecard there too)

And Floyd easily won the rematch.

Here's my polemic against the "close fight" crowd, and in defense of my shutout card (both live in 2013 and upon a second viewing three years later) from 2016:
    https://www.boxingforum24.com/threads/mayweather-vs-Álvarez-full-hd-replay-on-showtime-extreme-10pm-est.565108/

And yeah, JLC probably has the best argument in the pros, along with Chino Maidana the first time. Nobody in the pros has come as close as Lorenzo Aragón, however (the guy Floyd officially defeated before getting robbed against Todorov in what stands as his last official loss) IMO:

People claiming DLH/Pac/Canelo beat him are full blown cuckoo-bananas.

    Oscar was beating him.

If You go to the scorecards at the end of eight, Oscars wins it.

(And if Oscar's mum had balls she'd be his dad. )

Pac lost 8-4 on my card.

But, like Bud and Errol's upcoming, the fight was four or five year too late.

    In 2010, it was a 50-50.

And I think CJ Ross' card might be the worst I've seen...or maybe that honour belongs to CJ's card for Timmy-Pac 1,

Moretti should have been fired years ago along with Adelaide & several more Vegas judges . The ridiculous scorecards have been popping up for years yet nothing is ever done about it.

Yeah your suggestion should have happened more than 20 years ago.
